I am unable to attend the BOT meeting and have already signed the petition. But, I am posting my statement here, so it might be seen or even help someone form their own argument.

I decided a long time ago that I wanted to work with computers. I also knew that Computer Science and Information Technology were not for me. Then, I stumbled upon Management Information Systems.

MIS is unique. It offers not only a background in computers but in business processes and functions as well. I cannot count the number of times I have heard how desirable this combination in the workplace from friends, teachers, and employers alike.

By eliminating the program you not only are hindering current students, but, you are imposing a serious impediment on prospective MIS students, current and future business students, and the community at large.

I selected UCF as my first choice for three reasons: (1) the gorgeous campus, (2) the opportunities in Orlando, and (3) the Management Information Systems program.
