We just received word that today, UCF decided not to eliminate the Statistics program because of significant negative reaction from the Central Florida community.

Education Programs Committee Hearing on Program Deletions
July 13, 2009
2:30 – 5:30 p.m.
Cape Florida Ballroom, Student Union
Schedule:
2:35 – 2:40 p.m. Review of protocols
2:40 – 2:55 p.m. Provost presents the five programs to be deleted
2:55 – 3:30 p.m. Comments from representatives of the five programs; five minutes per program
3:30 – 4:45 p.m. Comments from the floor; three-minute limit to each speaker
4:45 – 5:30 p.m. Committee deliberation and vote
Protocols:
1) Leaders of each program will determine how best to use their five minutes.
2) Each speaker from the floor will be limited to three minutes.
3) Sign-in sheets for speakers from the floor will be available at 2:15 p.m.
outside the Cape Florida Ballroom. Speakers from the floor will be selected in
order of their name’s appearance on the sign-in sheet.
4) Speakers from the floor will be selected to represent the five programs as
equally as possible.
5) The number of speakers from the floor will be determined by the amount of
time available. The public hearing portion of the meeting will end at 4:45 p.m.
